SF art of James Bama

He switched to landscapes 40 years ago, but to fans he is most known for his several DOC SAVAGE covers. he also did a few SF covers

Trekkies like to harp on the error of rocket exhaust not only coming from the nacelles, but from the hanger deck as well. Fact is, this painting was done for NBC long before the series premiered and all Bama had to work from was some stills. Note the uniform collar, Spock's eyebrows, the yeoman, and the location lower left..this is all from the second , 1965 pilot WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE
